Cross
Country Wireless produce a range of RF bandpass filters with lightning surge arrestors.
The filter products cover the 50, 70, 144, 432 and 1296 MHz amateur radio bands. A special 144 / 432 MHz dualband filter is also available for use with dualband transceivers.
High performance CAD designed bandpass filter using cascaded 9 pole Chebyshev high pass and low pass filters
Ideal for SOTA, RAYNET, ARES or RACES for fixed, mobile or portable stations operating on multi-transmitter sites
Passband insertion loss <1 dB
144 MHz, +/- 7 MHz -6 dB, stopband better than -50 dB (typically -55 to -70 dB)
Advanced design also acts as a lightning surge arrestor capable of diverting repetitive induced lightning surges up to 5000 Amps
100 Watts RF max
N type female connectors as standard. Options - BNC female, SO239 female or N type in-line (1 N male / 1 N female) or TNC female
Painted aluminium case sealed with a rubber gasket to IP65 standard (dust tight and protected against water jets)
The 144 MHz prototype filter was tested on Winter Hill near Bolton, a well known broadcast site, during a RAYNET exercise for the Bolton Scout Hike in April 2007. Checkpoint 3 was located on a hill top with many other radio transmitters. The FDK transceiver used was unuseable without the filter due to reciever overload. With the filter in circuit no interference was heard at all. (Note the photo doesn't even show the broadcast site!)
